One More Dance with My Son

I heard the song One More Dance with My Son by Goldpine and could instantly see it: a boy in cowboy boots, his mom twirling in a pink dress, sunlight spilling across the floor, pure joy between them. For a mother at her adult son’s wedding, this is how she will always see him—her happy, carefree boy. For a mom holding a little one today, it is the quiet daydream of who he will become tomorrow.

The Song

One More Dance with My Son

By Goldpine (formerly called “My One and Only”)

Kassie and Benjamin Wilson wrote “One More Dance with My Son” for a friend’s wedding—a mother-son dance. They recorded it as My One And Only, before they were Goldpine. Since then, a lot of people have used this song in their weddings.

It captures that bittersweet moment when a mother watches her son grow into a man and step into a new life with a family of his own. While her heart swells with pride and joy—eagerly welcoming a new member into the fold—there is a quiet, tender nostalgia for the childhood years now behind them. The melody cradles that delicate balance of letting go while holding tight, capturing the magic of one more dance in the sunlight.
